Crystal Palace Band‘s very own Alan Hall (Principal Cornet) has been busy with his “day job” at Radio 3, and his latest project is something every brass player—and music lover—needs to hear!

Alan recently sat down with the incredible Siobhan Edwards, Solo Horn for the world-famous Black Dyke Band, for a special episode of the Instrumental series.

It’s a fantastic, funny, and deeply heart-warming 15-minute deep dive into the life of a horn player. From her early days in Derbyshire to reaching the pinnacle of the brass band world, Siobhan shares it all—including her refreshing (and relatable!) dislike of scales!

Whether you’re a fellow musician or just love a good story about passion and perseverance, this is a real treat.

Let’s show some support for Alan’s brilliant work and celebrate one of the finest horn players in the business! 👏✨
